BambooHR integration
BambooHR AI Screening Tool for Recruiters
Screened scores resumes and runs AI phone screens, and produces a documented, defensible result — so nothing moves from New to Offer on a hunch. The BambooHR integration is available on request.
Where Screened fits in BambooHR
BambooHR is a cloud HRIS built for small and mid-sized businesses — used by roughly 30,000 companies in 150+ countries, per BambooHR — covering core HR, payroll, benefits, and a built-in Hiring module that doubles as its applicant tracking system.
Recruiting lives under the Hiring tab: a Job Openings list, a Candidates tab where every applicant moves through configurable hiring stages, and reporting like the Applicant Funnel and Candidate Sources reports.
Most BambooHR customers don't have a dedicated recruiting-tech budget, so whoever runs hiring — often an HR generalist as much as a full-time recruiter — relies on BambooHR's native ATS instead of a separate best-of-breed system like Greenhouse or Lever.
What Screened takes off your plate in BambooHR
When a job opening pulls in hundreds of applications, every one lands in the Candidates tab tagged New — the status BambooHR assigns automatically before anyone has reviewed it.
Screened scores each resume against that job's requirements when it arrives, so the Hiring Lead works from a ranked read on the New queue instead of a flat list of untouched applicants.
Moving a candidate from New to Phone Screen in BambooHR usually starts with a recruiter finding time to call them. Screened's AI phone screening places that call, asks the role's screening questions, and produces the transcript, per-question scores, and a hire/no-hire recommendation — so whoever changes the status is doing it from a finished screen rather than a task nobody has got to yet.
Collaborators can rate candidates on BambooHR's 5-star scale, but two hiring managers rarely agree on what a 4-star resume means. Screened supplies the missing context — a 0-100 score, extracted years of experience, and any flagged gaps against the job's must-haves — so the Hiring Lead can compare two 4-star candidates on substance before booking an Interview.
BambooHR's Applicant Funnel report shows where candidates drop off between New, Phone Screen, and Interview, but if triage happens inconsistently — thorough on a slow week, rushed on a busy one — the funnel ends up measuring recruiter bandwidth more than candidate quality. Screened screens every applicant the same way on arrival, so movement between stages reflects the job's actual requirements.
How Screened works with BambooHR
A candidate applies to a BambooHR job opening and lands in the Candidates tab tagged New — Screened scores their resume against that job's requirements within minutes.
That score comes with key qualifications, extracted years of experience, and any red flags against the job's must-haves.
For roles that need a phone or text screen, Screened runs it and produces the transcript, per-question scores, and a hire/no-hire recommendation.
The score, recommendation, and results link are ready in Screened before anyone adds them to the candidate's Notes tab or moves the status to Phone Screen, Interview, or Not Selected. Writing them back as a note automatically is available on request.
Built around how BambooHR works
Screened fits the objects and stages your team already uses in BambooHR.
The status BambooHR assigns automatically when someone applies, before any person has looked at their resume — it's the starting point in the Candidates tab, not a stage a recruiter selects.
The pipeline steps configured in Hiring Settings. BambooHR's common defaults are New, Phone Screen, Interview, Offer, Hired, and Not Selected/Declined, though most companies rename or add to them to match their own process.
People given access to a specific job opening — hiring managers, interviewers, a search committee — who can view resumes, add notes, and, depending on permissions, change a candidate's status.
The three tabs on every candidate's profile page: Candidate Info shows what they submitted on their application, Notes holds every collaborator's comments about them, and Emails logs messages sent to or from them.
Built-in ATS reports — Applicant Funnel shows where candidates drop off between stages and how long each phase takes, while Candidate Sources shows which job boards or channels are actually producing hires.
A separate mobile app, searchable as "BambooHR Hiring" in app stores, that lets hiring managers review resumes and message candidates from a phone, distinct from the main BambooHR employee app.
Review candidate fit and authenticity
Bring screening assessments and potential authenticity concerns into your team’s review. Use the written findings to decide where a closer look is needed.
Common questions
Not natively — BambooHR's ATS organizes applicants into stages like New, Phone Screen, and Interview, but a person still has to open each resume to judge fit. Screened adds that layer: it scores every resume against the job's requirements once someone applies and produces the score and summary, so your New queue can be worked by fit instead of by application date.
No. Ask BambooHR is BambooHR's AI assistant for answering HR questions from your HRIS data — things like benefits, policies, and org chart lookups. It doesn't read a resume against a job description, score candidates, or run interviews. Screened is built for that specific job: resume scoring plus AI phone and text screening, with the results ready to review before anyone opens the candidate in BambooHR.
No. Screened works with whatever stages you've already configured in Hiring Settings — New, Phone Screen, Interview, Offer, Hired, Not Selected, or fully custom names. It scores and screens against the job those stages belong to and leaves the status field to your team; writing the result back as a note is available on request.
BambooHR's self-scheduling lets candidates pick an interview time from slots you've defined, but it doesn't conduct interviews or decide who's worth scheduling. Screened handles the step before that — it calls the candidate, asks your screening questions, and returns a transcript and hire/no-hire recommendation — and can also take over coordinating the next round of scheduling once a candidate passes, so a recruiter isn't manually chasing calendars for every screen.
BambooHR is available on request. Just ask us about it when you talk to sales. Screening itself needs no developer work, no custom API project, and nothing to install on your side.
Screened highlights potential concerns in resumes and checks interview answers against the job requirements. Your team can review the written reasons and interview transcript, then ask follow-up questions about experience that needs clarification.
Screened keeps assessments and written reasons for candidates screened through BambooHR. Open the Screened candidate profile to review activity, or export a CSV of the latest decisions. For hiring decisions made in BambooHR, use its own records. See the screening records guide.
