What lands on the Ashby profile
Screened creates candidate fields for the resume fit score, CV recommendation, and interview recommendation. Use them in Ashby views to sort, filter, and report on screening results.
A number from 0 to 100. Sort your pipeline by it, or filter to everyone above your bar.
Strong Fit or Not a Fit. Group candidates by the recommendation or use it in reports.
Proceed, Proceed with Caution, or Do Not Proceed — the outcome of the phone screen itself.
Screened also adds written assessments, tags, and an activity note with requirement-by-requirement evidence. Open the full report from the candidate profile. The latest decision made in Screened includes who made it and when.
Where this sits next to your Ashby scorecards
Your interview scorecards capture your team’s assessment of candidates. Screened keeps those intact and writes its screening results to separate candidate fields, tags, and notes.
Use Screened for the first-round call: it asks the questions, captures the answers, and writes up the assessment. Your panel continues using its existing scorecards for later interviews.
Use our free interview scorecard template to agree on the criteria for your team’s interviews. It includes weighted criteria on a 1–5 scale in Sheets or Excel.
How it runs day to day
Your Ashby admin creates an API key under Admin → Integrations → AI Screened, and pastes it into Screened.
You pick which jobs Screened works on, and the stage it should treat as the intake point.
A candidate applies. Screened scores the resume against the role and writes the fit score and recommendation to Ashby.
Candidates are invited to a phone screen according to your settings. Screened asks your role-specific questions and assesses the answers.
The interview recommendation, the written assessment and the evidence note land on the Ashby profile.
Your recruiter opens Ashby, sorts by fit score, reads the note, and decides who moves forward.
Choose when screening changes a stage
You choose which jobs to screen and whether screening results trigger stage changes.
Screened posts results without moving candidates. Turn on stage automation when you want screening results to trigger a move.
If a resume result arrives after a candidate has already moved past screening, Screened leaves them where they are. It will not pull someone back into an earlier stage.
Prepare for the next interview
Use the AI phone screening assessment to prepare for the next interview. See which questions have been answered and where you want to go deeper.
Review resume concerns alongside fit

Common questions
Screened adds a 0–100 resume fit score, written evidence for each requirement, and an optional AI phone screen. Scores and recommendations appear in separate Ashby candidate fields; the assessment and report link appear on the profile. Use Screened for the first screening pass while keeping your Ashby pipeline and interview process.
Screened creates candidate fields and tags, and may add up to two webhooks for applications and stage changes. These items are labeled AI Screened. Your existing stages, interview plans, and fields stay in place.
You choose. During setup you pick the stage that acts as the intake point, and candidates get screened when they land there. Most teams point it at their application review or new-applicant stage so screening happens before anyone spends time on a resume.
Only if you switch it on. Every "move to" setting starts off, so by default Screened writes results and changes nothing about where a candidate sits. If you do turn it on and a resume result arrives late, Screened will not pull a candidate back out of a stage they have already moved past.
Screened can run the first-round phone screen and write its assessment to Ashby candidate fields and notes. Your interview panel continues using its own scorecards for later rounds. Screened does not fill in or replace those scorecards.
Screened screens candidates who have applied; it does not source them. It reviews resumes, runs phone screens according to your settings, and sends the results to Ashby.
Yes. Screened writes results to its own candidate fields, tags, and notes. Your team can keep its custom scorecards and interview plans for later rounds.
Yes. Use AI Screened CV Fit (%) as a numeric field to sort, filter, or calculate an average. Group results by the CV Recommendation and Interview Recommendation fields. Detailed requirement evidence is in the candidate note, rather than separate reporting fields.
Your Ashby admin creates the key under Admin → Integrations → AI Screened. Choose “Create API Key for AI Screened” and copy the key before leaving the page. You then choose which jobs to screen in Screened.
Yes. Choose which jobs get automatic screening. In Ashby, a job needs to be open with a live posting to be eligible.
Yes. Read the assessment note on the Ashby candidate’s activity feed to understand why a candidate received a recommendation. Screening updates must be enabled. Open the Screened candidate profile for more detail and activity. For exports and review options, see the screening records guide.
Screened flags resume patterns for your team to review alongside the fit assessment. Read the reasons and use a follow-up interview to explore gaps. A flag is a reason to check, not proof of fraud.
